Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Applicant.link (“we”, “us”) operates this website and the pitch-video service available on it. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and how you can have it deleted.

2. What we collect

  • Account identity. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and a stable Google account identifier. We do not receive your Google password.
  • Profile data. Anything you enter on your profile: username, first and last name, role, and any links you add.
  • Video content. Videos you record or upload, along with their title, duration, size, content type, and an optional thumbnail frame.
  • Caption transcripts. When you add a video we generate a text transcript of its audio so viewers can read your pitch with the sound off. The transcript is stored with the video and is shown wherever the video is.
  • Abuse reports. If a visitor reports a public profile, we store the reason, any details they chose to add, and which profile was reported. Reports are anonymous — we do not record who submitted them.
  • Profile visit analytics. When someone opens a public profile we record that a visit happened, with the time, a coarse device type (phone, tablet, or desktop), the referring page if the browser sends one, and any context carried in a tailored share link (for example, the role a link was created for). These records belong to the profile, not to the visitor, and are used to show profile owners and our administrators how a link is performing. They use no cookies.
  • Deletion requests. If you ask us to delete your account, we store the request, its status, and any reason you choose to give.
  • Technical data. Basic request metadata (IP address, user agent) processed by our hosting provider to serve the site and prevent abuse.

3. Why we collect it

We use your data to authenticate you, store and display your pitch video and profile, let you share a public profile page if you choose to, and keep the service secure. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your video content to train machine-learning models.

4. Where it is stored

Video files are stored in Cloudflare R2. Account, profile, and video metadata are stored in Cloudflare D1. Authentication is handled by Supabase. Caption transcripts are produced by Cloudflare Workers AI, which processes a video’s audio on our behalf. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and security commitments.

5. Cookies

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies set by Supabase to keep you signed in and to refresh your session. These cookies are required for the service to function and are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. We do not set analytics or marketing cookies.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your account, profile, and video data for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we will remove your profile, videos, and associated metadata within 6 months of receiving your request. Backups and logs may persist for a short additional period before being overwritten in the ordinary course.

7. How to delete your data

You can request deletion from your dashboard (Danger zone → “Request account deletion”), adding a reason if you wish. A human reviews the request and then carries it out: we remove your videos, profile, and associated metadata. You can cancel a pending request from the same place. You may also email contact@applicant.link from the address associated with your account. We will confirm receipt and complete the deletion within 6 months; in practice requests are completed once they are reviewed, and if we decline one we tell you in your dashboard.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email address above.

9. Children

The service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes and contact

We may update this policy from time to time; the “last updated” date above will reflect any change. Questions? Email contact@applicant.link.
